Hiki, the very first relationship and relationship application designed for the autistic community, launched publicly July 16.
The app that is mobile to foster intimate and platonic relationships between grownups with autism — the fastest-growing developmental impairment on earth. Although 70 million people throughout the world reside with autism, founder Jamil Karriem, 28, stated the community that is autistic frequently over looked. “Autism. being a neurological condition is perhaps perhaps perhaps not brand brand brand new, but understanding within that globe is certainly a thing that is simply occurring now,” Karriem said. “We’re very very long overdue for a tremendous level of investment and time. in this community therefore [they] can thrive and lead pleased everyday lives.” Karriem developed the application for their cousin Tyler, a 22-year-old with autism.
